It didn’t take too long until the herd crossed the road. In less than 40 seconds, the elephants lead by their strong matriarch, made it on the other side of the road, into a wild area. The elephant family, including young calves, gave the people that have gathered there, a sight to behold.

“More than 50 wild elephants crossed the highway. They were moving together from one part of the jungle to the other,” said Pratya Chutipat Sakul, who filmed the moment. “The wildlife officers had been following the elephants for the last few days.”

Wildlife officials and park rangers kept monitoring the elephants for a couple of days, and soon as they realized their way is gonna be over the road, they called the local authorities to make sure everyone will be safe.

“When rangers saw that their path was moving towards the road, they called the police and urgently closed the road,” Sakul told MailOnline. “Policemen arrived to ensure that the elephants crossed smoothly and there were no accidents.

“Nobody minds waiting for the elephants, as the most important thing is that they’re safe. They were all so calm and barely noticed the humans. I feel very lucky to have seen such an amazing sight.”
