When it comes to protecting wildlife and saving the environment, there are still many kind people out there that showed they care about our planet and they try their best to save it. One of these great people is Leonardo DiCaprio.
Thanks to Leo’s pure love for animals and nature, he created a foundation “dedicated to the long-term health and wellbeing of all Earth’s inhabitants …[and to] support innovative projects that protect vulnerable wildlife from extinction, while restoring balance to threatened ecosystems and communities.” Through the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, this kind man supported more than 200 projects meant to protect wildlife and the environment.
Recently, Leo decided to donate $15 million and join the efforts to save the Earth. The actor hopes (as we all do) that more will follow his example and together to protect the wildlife and conserve the environment. “We have a responsibility to innovate a future where the habitability of our planet does not come at the expense of those who inhabit it,” Leonardo DiCaprio said.
“Professor Mark Jacobson and a team of researchers at Stanford University have proven that we can meet the world’s total energy demand using existing renewable technology by 2050,” Leo said. “This transition is not only the right thing for our world, it makes clear economic sense and it is possible within our lifetime… Our planet cannot be saved unless we leave fossil fuels in the ground where they belong.”
Protecting animals from extinction, combating the climate change and stoping the degradation of the environment it’s the only way to save the place we all call home – Planet Earth!
