A heroic dog saved a newborn’s life in a public park in England, after his mum presumably left him there. Surprisingly, no one noticed the little one, until the quick-thinking dog spotted him!

The 64-year-old retired engineer Terry Walsh went for a walk with his dog, Hel, to one of their favorites places in Birmingham, the Kings Norton park. But as they were casually walking, the Husky spotted something and immediately started to act unusual. It turned out there was a two-hour-old baby, rolled in a blanket. Fortunately, the dog persistence saved the little one’s life.

“As we walked through to the top of The Mounds, looking down towards Shannon Road, there was a rolled-up blanket just under the bushes,” the dog’s owner told Birmingham Live. “She went off to the blanket, lying next to it and started nudging it with her nose very gently.”

Walsh was in shock to hear a noise that sound exactly like a baby crying, coming from the blanket. So he rushed to investigate. “Suddenly I heard this baby cry,” he said. “I think it was Hel’s gentle nudging and the heat from my Husky’s body that woke the baby up.”

Grateful that the little baby was alive, Walsh called the police who immediately came at the scene and took the little soul straight to the hospital. Though, he was in a very good condition, according to the police, unfortunately his mom was nowhere to be found. The little baby was named “George” as he was found within a few days before St. George’s Day.

“Baby George is healthy and doing well,” West Midlands Police wrote on Facebook. “But sadly we’ve still not been able to find his mum. We’re very concerned for her and want to check she is doing okay, both physically and mentally.”

Let’s hope that little George and his mum will soon reunite!
