We’ve heard of humans having guide dogs, but what about dogs having their own seeing eyes dogs? It’s the case of Charlie, an 11-year-old golden retriever who had lost his sights after suffering from glaucoma
Part of Chelsea and Adam Stipe family since he was just a little puppy, Charlie was a lovely and loyal companion all those years. And the North Carolina couple also gave him everything they could. “For us it was a no-brainer; empty our retirement plan to care for this dog because he makes us happy, “Chelsea said.
The woman said they always wanted another dog, so Charlie could have a very best friend to share its feelings with. So, in January the Stipe family became a little more bigger, after they welcomed Maverick, an adorable four-month-old puppy.
Initially, Charlie wasn’t unsure about his new companion, but with the time he got used to his new mate. However, after some time, Chelsea noticed something really unusual about her dogs. The little Maverick began to support Charlie and help him out when he struggled due to his blindness, CBS News reports.
“They’re both pretty crazy and special. They’re definitely our entertainment. When they would play, Maverick would realize that Charlie would lose the toy sometimes, so would pick it up and put it back in front of him to re-engage playtime. They almost turn into little sled dogs where they’ll walk together,” Chelsea describes her beloved dogs. When seeing what special and incredible their dog’s bond is, the Stipes decided to share their dogs’ story on social media.

The pair even have their own Instagram account, where they gained more than 75,000 followers in only few days.
Speaking about the huge reaction, Chelsea told NBC:
It was crazy, it was not what I was expecting.
Everything has just been so positive and loving and I’ve even had people reaching out about their dogs who had glaucoma.
Dogs are proving, once again what special, unique and lovely creatures they are!
