Homelessness among animals is definitely a huge problem all over the world. Millions of dogs and cats are living on the streets with no shelter over their heads. Things are getting ever worst for these poor animals when is raining, or during the winter. But fortunately, some people step in trying to make a difference and help stray animals.
Such kind-hearted people are the owners of this coffee shop in Greece. The country is facing a huge problem when comes to dealing with stray animals. At least one million dogs are living on the streets of Greece. Nevertheless, this people in the island of Lesbos are trying to help however they can. And what a better help, than providing shelter to these poor things during the cold winter nights!?
Even more, owners of Hott Spott – how the coffee shop is named – sometimes leave the stray dogs to sleep inside, even during the summer. A beautiful way to show there is still kindness towards animals in this world.

“When the bar closes each night, the dogs come and sleep here,” said Antonio who works as a waitress at the shop. “We don’t have a problem. From July, every night there is at least one dog on the couch…The locals have increased levels of solidarity towards environmental and humanistic issues. The new generation is more sensitive and well informed.”
