Bears love fish, so going fishing naturally comes as one of their favorite activities. But a massive brown bear sharing a boat with his human friend and fishing together sounds like something too much to handle! Well, believe it or not, that’s what this kindhearted woman and her rescued bear do on a daily basis. Meet Veronika Dichka and her massive friend, Archie!
Archie the bear spent most of his life in a safari park and because of it, he wasn’t able to be released in the wild, even after he was rescued. Unfortunately, this usually happens to wild animals that are kept in captivity for too long. Nevertheless, his life dramatically changed though, two years ago when he met Veronika.
The kind woman decided to take this gentle giant in and look after him. Over two year, now, they share a very unusual, but so beautiful friendship! “We rescued him from the safari park but can’t release him into the wild as he has lived in captivity his whole life,” she said.
The pair has been recently caught on camera while fishing together on a lake in Novosibirsk, Russia and the adorable photos look like something out of a fairytale. Although they spend a lot of time together, fishing remains their favorite activity. Maybe because, both of them are great fond of new adventures.
“Archie spends every day with us and is madly in love with water,” Veronica said. “He loves it very much when I take him to new places. We are like family, we share food, sleep in my arms when afraid, and hide behind me. We rescued him from the safari park but can’t release him into the wild as he has lived in captivity his whole life.”
