The heartwarming gesture of a particular stray dog in Turkey became the talk of the town.
One day, the dog caught a whiff of something delicious and followed his nose to a butcher shop. Watching people purchase large chunks of meat only made him hungrier. Meanwhile, a young woman named Annie exited the shop with some steak.
While walking home, Annie heard a “loud gurgle and a whimper” and turned around to see the sad-looking stray dog. Moved with compassion, she returned to the butcher and asked for any bones or cut-offs to feed the dog, which she was able to purchase.
Once outside, she found the dog staring at her from a distance. Annie approached the dog and offered him the food. At first, the hesitant animal seemed unsure, but upon realizing Annie’s good intentions, he accepted the food.
Instead of devouring the food, the stray dog carried it away in his mouth, leaving Annie puzzled. She headed home but encountered the dog the next day, who appeared to recognize her and greeted her with enthusiasm. Annie bought some sausages for him before leaving, and the dog took the food and walked away as before.
Although curious, Annie did not have time to investigate. However, she continued to bring food for the dog whenever she saw him. One day, she followed him and saw him dropping a treat into a drain, which confused her. The dog kept returning to the same spot, and Annie decided to investigate further.
To her surprise, she discovered a tiny kitten stuck in the drain. She called the fire department, and they quickly arrived to rescue the kitten. Initially, the dog was protective of the drain, but Annie’s reassurance allowed the firemen to retrieve not one but five kittens from the drain, which they suspected had fallen in due to heavy rain.
The stray dog had been sharing his food with the kittens all along, and they were well-fed thanks to his generous gesture. Annie decided to foster the kittens until they found their forever homes, and she adopted Benny the dog and one of the kittens. The other four kittens were also placed in loving homes, and everyone lived happily ever after.
