Real-life alligator catches some rays on an alligator pool float in Florida

We all know there are lots of alligators in Florida. However, I wouldn’t expect to see them relaxing in the pools. Believe it or not, this is exactly how a Georgia resident spotted one of those huge creatures.

While visiting South Miami for a wedding with his family, George Jacobs saw there’s a massive alligator hanging out in the lake near their vacation rental. Nothing unusual so far, just the other day, the creature left its place only to catch some some sun rays in the pool. Or maybe he just wanted to join the pool float alligator who was already there.

“My daughter, who’s 14, was like, ‘Dad, this is soooo meta,'” Jacobs told the Miami New Times. “I guess it’s not that unusual, but it was unusual to me,” Jacobs says. “We have gators in Georgia, but they’re just in areas that are not as populated, like some swamp where no one lives. But in Florida, they’re just in your neighborhoods.”

After he took some pictures of the animal, Jacob called his Airbnb owner. Soon after a crew from wildlife management came and took the alligator away. Needless to mention this isn’t the only time an alligator finds comfort in a pool, especially in Florida.
