Dogs love treats; there’s no doubt about that. And they would go to extreme lengths just to ensure they get their paws on a delicious snack. If you’ve ever had a dog, then you’ve probably amused yourself watching your pet’s hilarious attempts trying to catch food.
Well, photographer Christian Vieler from Waltrop, Germany decided to take thing to the next level, and combine his experience with photography with his love for dogs.
The talented 45-year-old photographer takes hilarious photos of dogs trying to catch food in an attempt to capture the many faces of dogs expressing a wide array of emotions. “Every shoot I am looking for that specific moment when the dog is looking as cute or funny as they can be,” said Vieler in a recent interview for Bored Panda. “That cannot be seen without the power of freezing motion – dog’s faces with magnificent lineaments, telling us stories of panic, desire and joy,” he added.
There’s no way of knowing exactly what goes through our dogs’ mind when we throw a delicious snack at them and they see it into the air, but these photos can offer some valuable insight. The photographer managed to capture doggies depicting emotions such as excitement, confusion, and even sadness.
Sure, this is a fun experiment that is sure to give you a good laugh, but it’s far more than just that. The results show just how complex dogs really are. The fact that they are capable of feeling and expressing such a wide palette of emotions proves that dogs are so much more than many people give them credit for.
