Things seem to get completely out of control in Australia as the all-time temperature recored was recently broken, due to the extreme heatwave that hit the country. And not only humans fell the devastating effects, but wild animals as well.

A recent heartbreaking footage of a thirsty koala flagging down a group of cyclists to ask for help is going viral. While riding towards Adelaide with a group of cyclists, Anna Heusler got approached by a desperate koala who was “suffering severe thirst.” The poor little creature climbed onto the woman’s bike to get some water.

“Naturally, we stopped because we were going to help relocate him off the road. I stopped on my bike and he walked right up to me, quite quickly for a koala, and as I was giving him a drink from all our water bottles, he actually climbed up onto my bike,” Heusler told 7News. “None of us have ever seen anything like it.”

In a footage shared on Instagram you can see you Anna is giving water to the desperate animal, while he’s literally climbing onto her bike. The images speak for themselves!

There were about a dozen cyclists around me watching this (all men) and several commented that it was genuinely the best thing they’ve witnessed. What a truly wonderful experience. Check out my previous posts this morning for explanation. : : : #cyclingtips #cycling #roadcycling #roadbike #roadbikelife #lifeonabike #travelbybike #cyclingphotography #cycleshots #rideyourbike #instacycle #veloclub #cyclinglife #fromwhereride #switchbacks #roadslikethese #cyclingpassion #cyclingworld #whenindoubtpedalitout #womenonbikes #womenriders @cyclingtips @veloclub.cc @iamspecialized @iamspecialized_wmn @womenridebikes #rideadelaide #radelaide #adelaide #adelaidehills #southaustralia #koala #koalabear #koalabears #australia

“This Koala walked right up to me as I was descending and climbed up onto my bike while I gave him water. BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO ME ON A RIDE EVER,” she wrote. After she gave him water, the koala was taken to the nearest bushes for shelter. Back in the day, the temperatures in Australia reached 104 degrees. Shortly after the footage was captured, a code red was declared in South Australia.

A month ago, another dramatic footage of a koala went viral. Bach then, a local woman was running through the flames to save a helpless koala. The brave woman risks her life for the seek of this poor creature!
