At Jon and Tracey Stewart’s Farm, Abused Animals Are Given a Safe Sanctuary

Since he retired from “The Daily Show” in 2015, Jon Stewart wanted a new challenge. He planned to turn his 12-acre farm in Middletown, New Jersey into a sanctuary for farm animals. A beautiful initiative, praised by animal activists.

But, in less than two year, their farm proved to be overcrowded, so the couple decided to make so major changes. Jon and Tracey announced they’re planning to turn a 45-acre farm into an animal sanctuary. The plans were approved in January 2017.

A happy moment, not only for the kind couple, but for all those animals who were about to be rescued, too, as the news produced a lot of excitement for the Stewarts. Tracey even compared it with the birth giving process. “It’s one of those things like where after you give birth you forget about the pain,” she told NJ Advance Media. “So right now I’m feeling really good and positive.”

Thankfully, now the Hockhockson Farm Foundation is a place where animals in need are more than welcomed. This safe place is home for so many mistreated farm animals, from oats, sheep, horses, and pigs.

We really need more people like Jon and Tracey Stewart!
